The 2025 fall sports season has come to a close, and what a season it was! This year yielded 5 River Valley League champions, the most out of any other school in the league. Every sport grew in sportsmanship, unity, and their demonstration of the Warrior Way. Every sport has something to be proud of, big or small. Regardless of how each team’s season turned out, everyone has a reason to be proud.
We would also like to congratulate all of the class of 2026 seniors who competed in their last season of high school sports. Everyone at the school is going to miss the seniors, and we wish everyone the best of luck for the rest of the school year and after graduation!
Girls Volleyball

The Girls Volleyball team had a pretty solid season. They finished with a league record of 6-4 and qualified for CIF. Coach Taggart says they struggled with competing as a cohesive team at the start of the season, but by the end, everyone was playing for each other and to win as a team. One of the highlights of the season was when they played La Sierra and won in 5 sets. Coach Taggart said that the girls really came together, tested their mental strength, and learned how to overcome mindset issues. Notable players on the team include libero Jalene Self and setter Priscilla Gurule, who were given all-league honors.
Seniors: Jalene Self, Jasmine Fleming, Itzel Camacho, Navaeh Cisneros, Lizeth Mata, Audrina Montoya, Selma Centeno, and Yisel Martinez (Stats)
Girls Golf

Girls' Golf finished their season with the usual success they have had in recent years. They finished the year with an 8-0 record in league play (15-3 overall), and earned their third River Valley League title in four years. Led by Captains Valerie Orta and Zoe Anderson, the team qualified for CIF, and playing in Division 4, Coach Horton says they performed well. Zoe Anderson was named the team MVP, and Abigail Smith was honored with the Warrior Award. Coach Horton says he is especially proud of the girls for always playing with class and respect, regardless of the outcome of the match.
Seniors: Zoe Anderson, Priscilla Quintanar, and Valerie Orta
Girls Tennis

Girls' Tennis had a very successful year and was dominant from the start to the end. They finished the year with a 10-0 league record and an outstanding 19-0 overall record. Led by Captain Victoria Felix, they qualified for CIF Division playoffs, but narrowly lost in the first round. The team had several outstanding players, including:
(Singles) Kalea De Granada: 53-0 overall; 30-0 League
(Singles) Myla De Granada: 44-3 overall; 30-0 League
(Doubles) Scarlett & Reagan Robertson 26-0 League
(Doubles) Kimberly Le & Ireland Stewart: League Individuals Champions
Coach Allmon said the team’s chemistry improved greatly throughout the season, with captains and seniors spreading the “Warrior Culture” at matches and practice. Coach says the thing he is most proud of his team for accomplishing is “ our individual efforts when engaged in battle, and the important shift to team support once an individual match has been completed. This is where our Warriors shine!” Girls' Tennis had a phenomenal year, one of the best in program history.
Seniors: Kimberly Le, Ireland Stewart, Elizabeth Mancia, and Paloma Perez
Girls Flag Football

In their second-ever season, the girls' flag football team was able to build even more on their success from the year before. They finished the season with an 8-2 league record (15-4 overall) and won back-to-back RVL league titles. The team qualified for CIF Division 3, but lost in the first round. The team has a massive talent pool, with Quarterback Kayla Gonzalez being named the league's offensive MVP, and Safety Alana Carrillo being named the league's defensive MVP. In addition to this, Allison Celis, Alexa Celis, Ashlyn Gorecki, Sadie Banuelos, and Destiny Ruelas were given all-league first team honors.
Led by captains Kayla Gonzalez, Alana Carrillo, Allison Celis, Ashlyn Gorecki, and Yuvia Delgado, the league powered through its opposition with class and respect. Coach Kendall says the team had the biggest growth in playing as one unit. “The talent is very apparent, but it takes more than talent to win the league. It takes teamwork and trust in each other. No individuals. This team fully exemplifies this concept.”
She also admires how the team, as student-athletes, was able to balance their school work while still being able to compete well. Overall, the flag football team had a great year and hopes to be even better next year.
Seniors: Kayla Gonzalez, Allison Celis, Alexa Celis, Jennacess Albin, Sterling Hubbell, and Shiloh Martinez
Boys Cross Country

The Boys Cross Country team further built upon their success with a fourth consecutive undefeated league title. They won every league meet by finishing in first place and qualified for CIF. At league finals, the boys' team had four runners finish within the top ten (Darril Patton, Edgar Sanchez-Herrera, Nels Lyman, and Alan Martinez), earning all-league honors. The team competed well at CIF in Division 1, which this year was at the Mount SAC rain course, as the rain was relentless for the duration of the race.
Throughout the year, the team grew as a cohesive unit, and despite the very diverse group, it would always act as a team that cared about the success of everyone. While the team was not as large as the coaches were hoping for, they had a great season and look forward to continuing their success on the track in the spring.
Seniors: Darril Patton, Edgar Sanchez-Herrera, Nels Lyman, Luis Uribe, Paul Shaner, and Isaac Parra
Girls Cross Country

While the Girls Cross Country team did not reach the goals they were striving for, they still had a great season to be proud of. They finished second overall in the league, though all three league meets were lost by very close margins, and earned a spot in CIF. At league finals, the girls had 4 runners finish within the top 10 (Madison McGarvey, Elaine Ruiz, Suzette Godoy, and Metztli Medina), earning all league honors. Madison McGarvey also won her race, being named the girls' MVP. At CIF, the girls competed well in Division 1, which was a unique experience, being in the rain and running in what was essentially a parking lot.
Throughout the year, the girls grew to become what was almost a family. Every day at practice, they showed up laughing and smiling, regardless of how difficult the day was. The coaches are very proud of how the season turned out, regardless of the outcome, and are ready to continue their success on the track in the spring during the second semester.
Seniors: Madison McGarvery and Suzette Godoy.
Boys Football

The boys' Football Team had what can be considered the best season in program history to date. They won the River Valley League Title, something which seemed improbable at the start of the season. With clutch victories against Ramona High School and Norte Vista High School (their first win against them to date), they earned their place in CIF. The team was stacked with talent, led by outstanding players like Isaac Galiza (leading the team in rushing yards and total touchdowns), Nathan Villanueva (leading the team in Tackles per game), and Kaden Forbes (leading the team in receiving yards) to help propel them to the esteemed River Valley League title.
The team this year excelled at clutch victories, whether it be a double overtime victory at the homecoming game, or an improbable catch to seal a victory against Ramona, the team had it all. While the end of the season was disappointing, the team has every reason to be proud.
Seniors: Nathan Villanueva, Diego Hernandez, K'yRan Spenser, Jose Guzman, Ruben Flores, Zane Fulmer, Erik Cisneros, Joseph Martinez, Isaiah Brown, Ty Rider, Isaac Galiza, Justin Goze, Nicholas Leach, Jadyn Cortez, Ethan Perez, Nicholas Midina, Grant Jones, Devon Gomez, Rosas Jeremiah, Andrew Chavez, Jason Avalos, Joseph Sanchez, Victor Ramirez, Dominic Gonzalez, Emmanuel Gaeta, Derek Crislip, and Jeremiah Abril.
Boys Water Polo

Boys' Water Polo had a bit of a down season from the year before, going 1-5 in league play (4-18 overall), having had 12 seniors graduate after the prior season. They still had some solid players and tried their best at every game, and gained some new experience every step of the way. Every player did their part, and they grew as a team throughout the season while improving their water polo skills.
The team has a lot of young talent who will be ready to play in their new league next season, and can’t wait to tear it up in the water next year.
Seniors: Kody Santos, Levi Serrano, Jose Alcala
