FOOTBALL

Highlights of Patriot Football 2024 Season

  • Reached the playoffs for the second season in a row (only the second time in school history)

  • Won against Division 10 champion Silverado on a last second touchdown

  • In league, the team had a 3-game win streak beating Rubidoux, La Sierra, and Jurupa Valley by a combined score of 142-8, beating both our cross-town schools and beating La Sierra for homecoming

The Patriot football team had another good season in reaching the playoffs for a second consecutive season for only the second time in school history. We had a tough preseason, losing to Shadow Hills by one point and traveling to Serrano to lose to the Division 8 runner up. We did win against Div 10 champion Silverado on a last second touchdown. The fires did affect us when we were unable to play Temescal Canyon, going 2-2 in the preseason.

For league, we battled with Norte Vista before losing by one score, we then went on a 3-game win streak beating Rubidoux, La Sierra, and Jurupa Valley by a combined score of 142-8, beating both our cross-town schools and beating La Sierra for homecoming. We lost our last 2 games to Ramona and in the playoffs to South Pasadena. Overall, we went 5-5 and made the playoffs which is always a great season. -Coach Fowler

FLAG FOOTBALL

Varsity Flag Football team with coaches Kang, Kendall, and Kai

In the first season as a sport, the Girl's Flag Football Team represented Patriot well by becoming League Champs in its inaugural season. Every player worked hard through the summer and throughout the season learning and honing their skills in their respective positions. While most of the athletes are multi-athletes, they were able to dedicate themselves to Flag Football, know each role they played, and become a unified team. The bus rides and food stops were also a highlight. Thank you to all athletes, families, and coaches for their time and dedication.

2024 JV Flag Football team with coaches Kendall and Monroy.

  • The varsity team finished with an undefeated league play and an overall record of 11-3.

We look forward to an exciting 2nd season to build on what has been started!

CROSS COUNTRY

The Cross Country season was a successful season, to say the least, with all of the practices from summer and season paying off. The girls’ team obtained back to back League Champ titles. The boys’ team won their third League title in a row.

VOLLEYBALL

Patriot volleyball got second place this year with a 7-3 record! We had an amazing season with multiple themed nights.

At the Pink Out game, volleyball honored Ms. Sharon and Staci Della-Rocca

  • We had Hawaiian Night in which we defeated La Sierra in four sets

  • Western Night where we had a tough close loss to Jurupa Valley in 5 games

  • Pink Out Game where we defeated Notre Vista in three sets. At our Pink Out Game, we honored those who have been affected by breast cancer with a sparkly ribbon and flowers. We honored Ms. Sharon as well and created a space for Staci Della-Rocca.

  • We also made it to the first round of CIF where the girls played their hearts out and had a tough close loss.

  • Stand out players are: Alexis Esparza (OH), captain, was at the top of stats for the River Valley League leading in hitting, kills, and Aces. Veronica Estrada (L), led the team in most digs and was an inspiring captain to all the girls. Karina Watts helped the team with blocks and amazing kills. All three of these ladies were given First All-League patches. We had a great season and cannot wait to come back stronger next year! -Coach Taggart
