Thank you to Mr. Orison for sending over all the information listed here!
Wondering what the AVID Program is all about?
AVlD (Advancement via Individual Determination) is a program that supports and helps students get ready for college. Studies show that AVID students are more likely to enroll in AND complete college-prep courses in high school successfully via AP or Dual Enrollment courses. Studies also show that AVID programs provide confidence to students to enroll in college, especially when they are the first in their families to attend college. There are many students who credit the AVID Program for their success in high school and for their continued education after high school.
What is an AVID Class?
1. AVID students learn essential skills that will help them succeed like proper note-taking, goal setting, and time management.
2. AVID students practice their writing skills
3. AVID students work in small groups with college students as tutors
4. AVID students visit many college campuses and go on amazing field trips

Here are the number of AVID seniors and where they will attend school next year (the number represents how many students will be at each institution):
1: United States Air Force Academy (which will make this student an officer in the U.S. Air Force)
14: UC Riverside
