Senior Year Spotlight
Senior year, finally the year every senior student is most excited about!
This year has started strong! With so many fun experiences like the “last” first day of high school, “last” first football game, senior sunrise, homecoming, etc. It’s all been so fun!
Many rave over the freedom and careless experiences that come with being a senior.
While true, we are also internally stressed with the fact that this is the last time we experience life as kids. College applications are making us go crazy with deadlines, essays, financial aid, and most importantly the nostalgia that our life is going to change in less than 9 months.
Away from all the sappy emotions, senior year has been one of the best years of my life so far due to friendships. Being with a friend group that is also as excited about our last high school year gives you a different kind of motivation to experience things to its fullest. We started this past summer planning how we wanted our senior year to go and it’s going better than what we imagined it to be because of the bond we have with each other and wanting to experience everything before we cross that stage.

We are all going through similar experiences together with stress, extracurricular activities, family, personal issues but we never fail to have a little fun in between with each other and the rest of our class. Friendships are important in that way. They provided you with a “home” of similar experiences and emotions.
In class, we come with the mentality of “we’re almost done, push through” and this only gives the whole class a better bond that we’re all in this together. If I feel it, we all feel it.
We also came into the year with an open mindedness of getting to know each other better because we want to make the best out of our year and have the best memories.
Our teachers also give us motivational speeches of our future and what life has ahead of us and WE ALL HIT REALITY that we are growing up and have so much to live still. They tell us to have the best time this year because they also went through this moment and highly suggest we participate in all things at school because they didn’t get to experience or they didn’t have the opportunity to. And while it may sound corny, it’s true.
We’re going to look back at this year and either have so much regret or be so happy that we made these memories. And well for me, I have so many great memories already that I will never forget!
So don’t wait and make it a year full of amazing memories!
